Crossfit A few months ago a friend and fellow trainer introduced me to a form of training and a lifestyle known as "Crossfit Training." Crossfit combines strength and endurance for what I can only describe as an incredibly intense workout. The first workout that he introduced me to was called "Murph", apparently after the sadist...I mean fellow athlete who came up with it. The "Murph" workout involves running a mile, doing a total of one hundred pull-ups, two hundred push ups and three hundred squats. You finish by running a mile...All while wearing a twenty five pound vest.
Once I was over the nausea
and soreness, I was hooked. In less than six months my
"Murph Mondays" as I call them have evolved into... As a trainer I now incorporate some form of Crossfit into my client's training sessions. What's best is that all of the information is completely free. There is no sign up fee and nothing really to buy. All you do is go to http://www.crossfit.com and look at the workout of the day or "WOD". If for some reason you don't like the workout, then you can scroll down and find one that you prefer. If you see an exercise that you're not familiar with then you can click on "Exercises and Demos" and see a video of how the it should be performed. If you want to get an idea of what Crossfit athletes can do click on the link to go to a YouTube highlight of the Crossfit Games. So good luck and happy training.
